Where are you from?

I was born and bred in Manchester, England. I live there with my husband and our rescue dog, Loli, who came to live with us in 2021.

I have lots of family in Ireland as well, because my Mum and Dad were born there.

When is your birthday?

I was born in January 1984 and I am a classically stubborn Capricorn.

How many books have you had published?

Up to now, 5, plus a short story. They are:

• The Midnight Game (UK, US and Poland)

Which order should I read your books in?

Any! They are all stand-alone, which means they can be enjoyed in any order. I do like to think they all happen in the same universe, though, so if you have eagle eyes you might find the tiny Easter eggs in each book.

Where can I get signed copies of your books?

I often pop into bookshops to sign their stock - I update my Instagram if I do this. Otherwise I sign books at events or do the occasional giveaway on my social media channels.

How do we find out about your events?

Check my social media and my 'Events' page for up to date listings. I also post these on my Instagram (they’re usually on there first to be honest).

Can we see a picture of your dog?

Of course! She’s a mixed breed and we have no idea what she is, because she came to live with us when she was 5 months old. She is very funny and very cute! There are loads of pictures on my Instagram.

Can you visit my school?

I’m not doing any school visits this academic year apart from my Patron of Reading duties. I might reopen in January 2025, so keep an eye on my School Visits pages for updates.

Can I follow you on social media?

Yes! I’m @CynthiaMurphyYA on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. I update Instagram the most often so that’s usually the best place to find out information (or see pictures of Loli).
